We’re a small, independent studio right here in Exeter, Ontario; just one artist, one chair, and a whole lot of love for custom ink. Every tattoo we create is personal, and we take the time to make sure your piece is crafted with care, precision, and originality.

OUR STORY
After establishing The Drifter's Ink as Tamarindo, Costa Rica’s premier tattoo studio, Levi Moodie built a reputation for blending vibrant colors, bold lines, and precise dot work to create unique, lasting body art. His studio became a haven for both locals and tourists, celebrated for artistry that held up under Costa Rica’s famous sun.
After seven years, Levi and his family chose to return to Canada to be closer to their roots and share this passion for tattoos with a new community. Now, with Black Squirrel Tattoo, Levi brings the same commitment to quality and creativity to rural Ontario, offering a welcoming space and exceptional service for those who seek art that tells a story as unique as their own.

DEPOSIT POLICY
To secure any appointment at Black Squirrel Tattoo, a non-refundable deposit is required. The amount depends on the size and scope of your project:

Small tattoos → $60 deposit (applied to the cost of your tattoo).

Medium/large/multi session pieces → custom deposit to be discussed with Levi.
When deposits are lost
Your deposit will be forfeited and paid out to the artist if any of the following occur:

You don't show up for your appointment / fail to give 48 hours notice (If proper notice is given, your deposit can be moved to your new appointment. More than 3 consecutive reschedules may still result in losing your deposit.)

Canceling your tattoo project entirely.

Booking while under 18. You must be 18+ at the time of your appointment.

Failing to bring valid government-issued photo ID. (Driver’s license, health card, or passport required.)

Arriving late enough that your session has to be rescheduled, which requires a new deposit.
Deposits protect your artist’s time and ensure we can continue offering one-on-one, custom tattoos in a small, independent studio setting. Thanks for respecting our policies and helping us keep the process smooth for everyone.
Tattoo After Care
Congrats on Your New Tattoo!

The way you care for it over the next few weeks will make all the difference in how it heals and looks long-term. Here’s what we recommend:
Right After Your Tattoo:

Your artist will cover your tattoo before you leave the shop. Keep this bandage on for the time instructed (usually a few hours).

Wash your hands before touching your tattoo — always.
Cleaning:
-
Gently remove the bandage and wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.

Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel (don’t rub).

Never re-bandage unless instructed by your artist.

Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free, tattoo-friendly moisturizer (Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, or unscented lotion).
What to Avoid:

No scratching or picking at scabs or flakes. This can cause scarring and ink loss.

No soaking in water (baths, hot tubs, swimming pools, lakes, etc.) until fully healed (about 2–3 weeks).

No tanning or direct sun exposure. UV rays fade fresh tattoos fast. Once healed, always use sunscreen.

No tight or dirty clothing rubbing against the area.
If something feels off: Excessive redness, swelling, pus, or fever are signs of infection. Contact your doctor right away — not your artist — if this happens.
