BOOKINGS
We are a private studio operating by appointment for consultations and tattoos. Please fill out the booking form to get in touch! Tell us about what you’re looking to get including any reference material you have. We will then contact you to set up a consultation. At that point you can meet with your artist to discuss your tattoo and book your tattoo appointment. In some cases, if your concept is very straight forward we can bypass the artist consultation and set up a time for you to come in and book with our counter staff. We look forward to hearing from you!
Please note: We are a busy family-run biz and do occasionally go on holiday! We are not always able to email back and forth everyday. If you have submitted a complete booking request we will respond to you. If it has been more than a few days please check your spam folder. Thank you!

OUR STORY
After establishing The Drifter's Ink as Tamarindo, Costa Rica’s premier tattoo studio, Levi Moodie built a reputation for blending vibrant colors, bold lines, and precise dot work to create unique, lasting body art. His studio became a haven for both locals and tourists, celebrated for artistry that held up under Costa Rica’s famous sun.
After seven years, Levi and his family chose to return to Canada to be closer to their roots and share this passion for tattoos with a new community. Now, with Black Squirrel Tattoo, Levi brings the same commitment to quality and creativity to rural Ontario, offering a welcoming space and exceptional service for those who seek art that tells a story as unique as their own.

Tattoo After Care
The First Day:
-
Always wash your hands before touching your new tattoo while it is in the healing stages.
-
Remove bandage within 2 hours. Do not re-bandage.
-
With clean hands, wash your tattoo with an anti-bacterial soap.
-
Gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Following 3 -4 Days:
-
Rub a small amount of ointment on your tattoo. We recommend After Inked tattoo cream. Be sure to rub the ointment in so that it is absorbed and is not shiny or greasy– you want the thinnest amount possible. If you can wipe anything off you have too much on. Excess ointment can actually be detrimental to the healing process. Apply ointment as needed.
-
On the first night try not to sleep directly on your tattoo to avoid it drying to your sheets. If this happens you can apply warm water to the material to loosen it without damage.
-
Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first 2 weeks– nothing abrasive or irritating.
-
For a foot tattoo: go barefoot as much as possible or wear a shoe with an open top. Avoid sandals or flip flops for this period to prevent chafing and damage to the tattoo.
-
After a few days your tattoo will begin to peel. This is normal. Do not pick at the skin. Begin using a mild, white, unscented lotion, free of dyes or perfumes.
-
Use lotion for 2 weeks or as needed until healed.
-
Tattoos typically heal with in 2-3 weeks. Can be a longer or shorter period of time.
-
Do not pick, scratch, or irritate your tattoo.
-
You can shower, but do not soak your tattoo until it is healed back to your normal skin. No swimming, soaking in a hot tub or bath.
-
Do not expose your tattoo to the sun for at least 3 weeks, after that use sun block to increase the longevity of your tattoo.
If you have any questions about your tattoo or the healing process, please call or stop in the shop so we can take a look. Infections are rare and can be mistaken for normal healing behavior. However if your tattoo is infected seek medical attention.
